Billa's official announcement

Ajith's fans can rest in peace now. Ultimate Star's Billa 2007 was initially expected to hit the theatres for Diwali. But now, an official announcement from the producer's side divulged that the audio release of the film is slated for the 15th of November and the film itself will be released two weeks afterwards on the 30th of November. While talking to the media, producer Suresh said that the shooting of the film is completed and the crew is currently busy at Mumbai with the post production work.
He further added that there are many special effects scenes in the film which would certainly have the audience baffled with its technical finesse. When questioned about the number of prints for Billa, the producer said that they intend to release the film with 250 prints and a special feature about Billa 2007 will be its English subtitles primarily aimed at the international audience. Stunt scenes in the film have been choreographed by William Aang who has worked in numerous Jackie Chan films. In addition to Ajith, Billa features Nayantara, Namitha and Prabhu and the film is directed by Vishnuvardhan.

Ajith’s Akbar Eyes Parvathi

The much talked about Ajith starrer Akbar is to hit the floors in February ’08. This is Raju Sundaram’s directorial venture and much is expected out of this. Shriya was supposed to play the leading lady opposite Ajith, but for reasons best known to her she is no more a part of the Akbar’s team.

Andhra’s latest sensation Parvathi Melton has taken her place, this buxom beauty is the most talked about heroine in Telugu films today. She was to make her entry into Tamil films with Unnale Unnale and even completed screen tests for the same but unfortunately she lost out to Sada, reasons they say were that she demanded a huge sum for that movie. Little did she know it would have cemented her place in the hearts of Tamil audience.
Parvathi is born of German father and Punjabi mother and is just 18 yrs old and already has hits in Malayalam and Telugu to her credit. This trained Bharatanatyam dancer is pretty choosy about her projects and is also a part of an English film on Buddha by veteran director Shyam Benegal.

'Thala' Deepavali

Rumors were abuzz that Ajith starrer ‘Billa’ will not hit the screens for this Deepavali. The news came as a disappointment for millions of Ajith fans across the State.

But quick to put the rumors to rest is director Vishnuvardhan. According to the director, “The film will hit theatres on Deepavali day. It would surely satisfy the fans of both 'Superstar' Rajnikanth and 'Ultimate Star' Ajith kumar”.

Billa is a remake of yesteryear Rajnikanth classic titled the same. It stars Nayanthara, Namitha among others in the cast.

Says Vishnuvardhan, “Billa has been shaping up well. The performance of Ajith will be the highlight of the movie. Understanding that expectations are high since the film is the remake of a 'Superstar' starrer, Ajith has come out with his best”.

Only two more songs need to be filmed, Vishnuvardhan said and added they would be canned in Malaysia.
