Ajith becomes the happiest man in the world

Ajith must certainly be the happiest man on earth at this moment and why not, every man who knows that he is going to be father for the first time will be. Everyone get ready to wish Thala and his sweetheart Shalini the very best as they prepare to bring their first child into their lives. News has just come in that Shalini is expecting and we take utmost pleasure in being able to break this news to all the fans of Ajith.

This is undoubtedly the best moment in the happy married life of one of the most celebrated star couples in Kollywood. Their relationship is said to be made of the stuff that fairy tales are usually made of. We hope that the birth of their child will add more happiness into their lives.
The entire family is reportedly just short of jumping for joy ever since they received this news. Shalini has been asked by her doctor to take care of herself and not to carry on with her badminton, quite normal. We, along with all well wishers of Ajith whole heartedly congratulate the couple. As for Ajith, well becoming a dad is just great, it also brings with new responsibilities including more time to be spent with family. We are sure that Ajith is already planning out all this. All the best, Junior Thala is set to arrive.

Sivaji vs Kreedom

Sivaji is making news and the hype around it is at an all time high, but another movie which is also in the news is Ajith's Kreedom. This film is one of the many movies that have been affected by Sivaji - the Boss. The producers of Kreedom were waiting for Sivaji to get released and space out their release in such a way that there is at least a gap of a month between the two films.

But now the official date of both the movies is out and Kreedom will be released just ten days after Sivaji. So there might be a clash between our superstar and ultimate star. Sivaji is set to be an action movie with a social message while Ajith's Kreedom is a family entertainer with a lot of action sequences. Actually the producer’s risk may pay-off, as people who couldn't get tickets for the Rajini starrer will choose the next best, which will indisputably be Kreedom. But another issue is - Will Kreedom be accommodated in decent theatres? As almost all the major theatres are gearing up for The Boss to arrive. Sathyam theatres are giving off its best screens. And Abirami is also ready to show Sivaji in all their four screens and so on. This could actually be a major set back for the Ajith starrer. Will Kreedom get enough theatres to come close to the Boss or will Sivaji be instrumental in postponing Kreedom again? Only time will tell.

The next crown

The audio release of Ajit’s ‘Kreedam,’ is to be held on June 1. After shooting a song sequence with Ajit and Trisha at various locations in Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam, the unit moved to Vandi Periyaar and Alleppey to can another duet. The film is ready and the makers are planning a June release. Thiru is the cinematographer and G.V. Prakash, the composer. An interesting aspect is that Na. Muthukumar who is known to us as a lyricist, dons the garb of dialogue writer toowith ‘Kreedam.’

Vijay Sings Ajith’s Praise

Ajith gave me ample freedom, says debutant director Vijay. The two have teamed up for Kireedom, a movie produced by veteran actor-producer Balaji's son Suresh Balaji.Thrilled at the way in which the movie has shaped up, Vijay says, “All credit should go to Ajith. Though I am a debutant director, Ajith never interfered in my work. He performed what I wanted from him”.Vijay had worked as associate of director Priyadharshan and churned out over 60 advertisement commercials.Throwing more light on the movie, Vijay says, “It is an emotional tale between a father and son. Raj Kiran and Ajith play the roles respectively Trisha as Divya, is cast as Ajith's ladylove. She has tried her hands at humor in the movie”.“Also my producer Suresh Balaji deserves a special mention. He guided me all through the project and never interfered in my work”, he adds. With Sivaji releasing this month-end, Ajith's Kireedom has been put on hold

Kamalhassan praises Thala

I watched Varalaru and Veyil. Both were good.I was happy to see Ajith back in the race. His acting was impressive especially as that effeminate&pyscho. It remembered me of my early films.I like his way of experimenting ang acting.Best wishes for him .I was initially reluctant to pick up the role .Lucky fellow grabbed the oppurtunity (Laughing). He once again proved he is not dead in kollywood.I admire how he faced the critics.I wish Ajith would act in my film as a villian ,he would really do a heart throbbing job,But thats possible only if I am another Ajith.

Pain pushes one to excel

Ajith completes 36 and steps into 37 on his birthday today. Yesterday, he and his wife met the media.

Seated in a chair on a foot high dais, Ajith spoke in measured tones.

"I realized I have to interact closely with directors after 'Anjaneya.' Vijay, the director of 'Kireetam,' and I have developed a good sense of understanding. We discuss everything with each other.

Among new directors, I have enjoyed working with Vijay. I have worked with many new directors like SJ Suryah and AR Murugadoss to name a few. If anyone has any questions, please go ahead," said Ajith, and he was bombarded with questions.

Ajith did not reply in haste. He thought things over and spoke slowly and one could see changes in him.

Here goes...

Why do you refuse to meet the press?

Since I am busy with my work, I do not have the time. I avoid meeting press at the shooting spot because that time belongs to the producer and cannot be used by anyone else. Since I suffer from back pain, as soon as I finish shooting, I take rest. Other than these reasons, it is not that I do not want to meet the press.

What was the inspiration to remake 'Billa'?

When Amitabh's 'Don' was re-made, Shahrukh Khan acted in the main role. That was the inspiration to remake 'Billa.' We dedicate it to Rajini. He is the role model for all actors. There is nothing wrong in wanting to be like Rajini. Even before shooting for 'Billa' started, I went to meet Rajini and told him I was acting in the re-make. He blessed me.

How do you choose your films?

The story should touch me and as soon as I hear it, I should get up and applaud.

Many top stars act together in Hindi films?

If we get good stories, we can do the same here.

Since re-makes are on the rise, do you think it is because of lack of imagination on the part of directors?

It will be wrong for me to comment on this. It's all in the eyes of the beholder.

What lesson did you learn from 'Azhwar'?

To act unhurriedly and with patience.

You seem more patient in answering questions nowadays?

I'm older....so I've become more approachable.

It is said you will do 5 films in a row for Reliance?

That's all mere stories.

It is said you suffered from intense back pain during the shooting of 'Kireetam'?

I had 5 operations done on my back in 1993. Since then, every time I do action scenes, I go through hell. That same pain is egging me on to act better.
